Every year billions of Muslims observe a month-long fast from sunrise to sundown called Ramadan, one of the pillars of Islam. For many, it’s tradition and an anticipated time to share with families and communities. For other Muslims, Ramadan is about self-denial or overcoming evil desires and appetites, renewing vows to live a moral life, reading the Qur’an again, extra times of prayer, and performing acts of charity. Another reminder - Ramadan falls during the month of March this year - so be praying for specific divine visions and dreams to call out to people during this month - when people are much more attentive to the spritual life throughout the month as they seek to atone for their actions throughout the year.

Sam had some experience living in a country in East Asia. When he found out about a small church that was meeting locally from that area, he decided to visit the church. On the visit he got to know Pastor Lee. In the conversation, Pastor Lee lamented that while his congregation understood the gospel and theology, they struggled sharing it with others. He thought his church needed better listening skills to help them understand the heart of the people.

Living in the UAE gives Christian's opportunity to build relationships with people from many different walks of life and lots of different religions. The Bellmans became friends with one of their neighbors who is a Muslim family. Since they do not have any of their extended family or close friends in the country with them, they are seeking friendships with neighbors. The Bellmans started to get together frequently with this family for dinner, shopping or coffee and they have become much like family.
