Just a Haircut!

Living in the Desert City has taught Hannah to hold loosely to her plans and allow the Father to open doors even in unexpected ways.

As Hannah went out with a friend one night to meet new women, they decided to stop by a local shop for henna. Their hope was to share stories from the Word. After an hour trying to engage the women, Hannah decided to pray the Father would open a door. Ten minutes later, she was getting a haircut. Sitting in the chair, Hannah quickly realized her hairdresser spoke a little English. However, her friend started an intentional conversation with Anita, one of the workers in the salon.

Hannah began praying for the Spirit to fill this tiny shop full of women from all areas of the world. Then, she noticed one of the Muslim hairdressers lay out a mat in the middle of the salon, put on a veil, and begin her prayers.

As her haircut finished, Hannah and her friend talked to Anita. Other shop workers gathered and heard about the hope they have in Jesus and the love the Father has for his children.

Anita asked many questions about their faith in God and shared how she is seeking to know more about the Bible and the God of peace. They proceeded to talk more with the women from Hindu, Muslim, and Buddhist backgrounds.

Instead of wallowing in disappointment over failed plans, Hannah allowed the Spirit to build a bridge to share the Gospel. Because Hannah was dependent on Him, she celebrated the way the Father opened doors to meet her new friends.

Anita now is studying the Bible and seeking to know more of Jesus. Hannah and her friend visit these shop workers regularly and share Bible stories and prayer.

Please pray:

…that these women would understand as they hear the Good News of Jesus.

…for Anita to have wisdom on how best to reach the women.

…for the women to believe what they are hearing to be true.
